The Cowtown Invitational FIRST® Tech Challenge Premier Event 2026 offers an experience similar to the FIRST Championship, creating a fun, exciting, and memorable culminating experience for teams. With 48 teams competing, the event is designed to push teams to their limits while celebrating the best of robotics innovation.
Format: 48-team, single-division FIRST Tech Challenge event
Rules: Standard DECODE™ presented by RTX rules, as outlined in the Competition Manual

Standard FIRST Tech Challenge Awards
Eight (8) qualification matches per team
Each team will have a 2.4m x 2.4m (8’ x 8’) assigned pit.
Pits are marked with tape on the floor.
Each pit will have 1 - 110V outlet. Teams should bring their own 25 foot extension cable.
Each pit will have a table, size 183cm x 76cm (6' x 2.5').
Chair Seating: Teams should be prepared to bring their own chairs.
Your pit is your team’s home base during the event. Teams are encouraged to incorporate Country Western–inspired décor into their pit design while staying within the approved guidelines below:
A 2.4 m × 2.4 m (8’ × 8’) pop-up frame (no canopy)
A 25-foot extension cord
Pit lighting to enhance visibility and presentation
One country flag per team
Clear team identification and informational displays
To help keep the venue safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone, please do not bring or use the following items in team pit areas:
Outside food or beverages
Glitter or confetti
Latex balloons or latex products
Helium balloons
Fog or smoke machines
Drones (inside the building)
Loud or amplified music
Direct flights to 193 domestic destinations and 67 international destinations from Dallas–Fort Worth.
Free Parking in the designated area, for teams and volunteers.
